Mike Barnicle has been a columnist for more than 30 years, writing in that time for The Boston Globe, New York Daily News, and the Boston Herald. Locally, he continues to contribute to the Boston Herald and to WCVB TV’s “Chronicle”, the longest running , award winning local news magazine show.
A veteran print and broadcast journalist known for his biting, to-the-point commentaries, Mike Barnicle regularly provides commentary to MSNBC and NBC’s Today Show, and has written for Esquire, George, and ESPN Magazine.
He has appeared on PBS’s News Hour, ABC’s Nightline, and CBS’s 60 Minutes; and hosted a daily radio program on WTKK in Boston for several years. He now does a Monday, Wednesday and Friday segment titled: "Barnicle's View".
He has won local and national awards for both his print and broadcast work in his more than quarter century in journalism, recognition including awards from National Headliners, Associated Press, United Press International, and Dupont Columbia.
He holds honorary degrees from University of Massachusetts and Colby College among others.
He began his career working for a variety of well-known political figures including the late Robert F. Kennedy and Edmund Muskie. He graduated from Boston University in 1965. |
